Leisure Activities and Attractions in Chester
Chester is the most complete walled city in Britain. We recommend the one hour's stroll around the city Walls, which can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes from our front door.
This 2000 year old city boasts a wealth of history and heritage, and is internationally famous for it's unforgettable half-timbered buildings.
Chester's most popular tourist attractions are close to the hotel - the unique 13th century Rows, the half-timbered and two-levelled gallery of shops, the 900 year old cathedral, and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain are all just a short stroll away.
...And don't forget your camera! After Big Ben, the pretty Victorian Eastgate clock just down the main street from the hotel is the most photographed timepiece in the world!
Of course, there are also many attractions that have been added to Chester since Roman times, some of which are listed here:
- Boat Museum
- Chester Zoo
- Blue Planet Aquarium
- Chester Military Museum
- Gateway Theatre
- Grosvenor Museum
- Chester Cathedral
- Chester Racecourse
So, if you are looking for a hotel ideally located for sight-seeing in the centre of this beautiful city, we couldn't be better placed to help you!
